it is important to recognize the power of our emotions– and to take responsibility for them by creating a light and positive atmosphere around ourselves. this attitude of joy that we create helps alleviate states of hopelessness, loneliness, and despair. our relationships with others thus naturally improve, and little by little the whole of society becomes more positive and balanced.

when i get up in the morning, my real concern is to discover whether or not i’m in a state of grace, the kind of balance in which you ride the chaos that you find around you. it’s not a matter of resolving the chaos because there is something arrogant and warlike about putting the world in order; but, it’s more like having an escape ski down over a hill going over the contours of the chaos. and if i make that investigation to discover that i’m not in a state of grace i try to go to bed.

we’re trying to take our understanding or our perception of truth and put it in a form so that you can hear it sensually, like with your ears. like a painter takes what he knows of the truth and puts it on canvas so the people can dig it in a sensual way; with their eyes. and music happens to be an ear thing, that’s all.
